This freshwater seaweed is still fairly new to the U.S.A. aquarium trade, but it’s pretty fabulous. It doesn’t root, it just drifts about, growing, and providing biofilm surfaces and hiding spaces for shrimp. Our current best understanding is that it is a fern gametophyte (not a liverwort!) of the genus Lomariopsis.

The ultimate plan is to have an entry for every aquarium and riparium plant that I currently possess–and then the aim is to possess more! Please get in touch if you are interested in obtaining aquarium plants and are in the Colorado Springs area!   Susswassertang
